Robson Ranch Texas Softball vs. The Dallas Spurs
The fall softball season is complete, and we move on to the exhibition season. A group of 60+ Robson Ranch Softball Association men took on the Dallas Spurs on Sunday, October 30.
The Dallas Spurs is a 65+ men’s AA softball team that brought a great lineup to Robson Ranch Field of Dreams and are headed to the Senior National Softball Tournament in Phoenix in a couple of weeks. The teams competed in a full nine-inning game in the hot temps of late October (creeping up on 90 degrees). The game was very competitive, but our Robson men secured the 18-17 victory with some clutch hitting and great defense in the bottom of the ninth!
The RRSA was managed by Paul Dorwaldt and Larry Brown. Players included Pat Powers, Mike Conley, Brad Killingsworth, Gary King, Joe Bingiel, Bob Laderach, Phil Wismer, Steve Wiley, Johnny Blecher, Kelly Petre, Dennis Thomas, Jim Hupp and Eddie Reeves. Umpires were Dan Close and Dean French.
What a display of softball and good sportsmanship, and it was great having the Spurs as our guests. The Spurs have already asked to come back and play another game!
